Mission: The purpose of the club is for students to investigate and carry out research studies that are designed by the faculty and students of Morristown High School.  The intention of this club is to foster scientific practices amongst teachers and students beyond the classroom. The proposed outcome is for students to find intellectual fulfillment by engaging in scientific research. The data collected by students and faculty will also be used for student analysis and comparison in The Science Academy, at Morristown High School.
This research conducted will be funded by the individual students and faculty with the assistance of funds made available through different grant foundations.
According to The National Student Research Center students that conduct research and who are scientifically and technologically literate, possess a repertoire of socially relevant knowledge and critical problem solving skills. Student based research allows students to acquire the ability to apply scientific thought and technological skills in a creative and productive way towards the betterment of their personal lives and the society in which they live. Thus promoting students with "twenty-first century" attitudes, values, beliefs, skills, and global perspectives which will help them grow up to be rational and loving adults who care about themselves, their fellow humans, the environment, and the world as a whole.
