The purpose of the SGO shall be:

• To cooperate to the best of its ability with the faculty and administration at Morristown High School.
• To maintain a high standard of student responsibility and self-government.
• To coordinate school clubs and organizations, to encourage participation when such assistance is requested.
• To plan and execute certain school-wide activities, such as Student Body dances and assemblies.
• To act as the official spokesperson between the Student Body and the faculty.
• To convey the various opinions of the Student Body and family.
• To foster inter-class cooperation and to assist or advise any class when such action is requested.
• To serve the community through service projects and volunteer work.

During the year the SGO will:

• Develop and implement school wide activities to encourage school spirit and increase student participation in the school community
• Act as the student body’s liaison to school administration
• Coordinate the television broadcasts during morning announcements
• Operate the School Store
